RS33859 / H0972 This is a FY 2027 trailer appropriation bill for the Department of Health and Welfare. It address the fiscal impact of House Bill 730, which requires changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility system.

LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO Sixty-eighth Legislature Second Regular Session - 2026 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 972 BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE AN ACT1 RELATING TO THE APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE; AP-2 PROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE3 FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 2027;4 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.5

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:6

SECTION 1. In addition to any other appropriation provided by law,7 there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health and Welfare for8 the Division of Welfare the following amounts to be expended for operating9 expenditures from the listed funds for the period July 1, 2026, through June10 30, 2027, for the purpose of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program ad-11 ministration:12 Cooperative Welfare (General) Fund13 $351,000 Cooperative Welfare (Federal) Fund14 163,000 TOTAL15 $514,000

SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby16 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after17 July 1, 2026.18
