Amends existing law to revise a provision regarding employees who bring a civil action.
The purpose of this bill is to set guidelines regarding cases brought under what is commonly referred to as thewhistle-bloweract. Inthe1970s, Idahohadsovereignimmunity, whichpreventedpersonsfromsuingthe government. The state and political subdivisions agreed to waive sovereign immunity, but the legislature passed the Idaho Tort Claims Act in order to regulate claims against government. This bill clarifies that whistle-blower claims fall within the rules set by the tort claims act.
