Amends existing law to provide that testimony by child witnesses shall be presented by alternative methods under certain circumstances.
The purpose of this bill is to allow child witnesses to testify remotely in court. Currently, remote testimony is at the discretion of the presiding officer. Upon request from certain individuals, a court would be required to allow a child witness to testify remotely. This requirement would benefit the child and aid the judicial process by allowing child witnesses to testify in a more comfortable environment.
